Life

So life has been happening and I haven't had time for updating this blog but figured I should now... I'm staying up until I register for classes.

So a couple weeks ago the week of the 22 was crazy busy! I had 4 tests, two papers, and practice and performances for Lu'au. Proud to say I passed all of my tests and Lu'au was AMAZING I did it with Stephanie, Karmila, Kimber, and my cousin Vao played the drums!!! I did not realize how much I missed performing but I was so happy to be performing even for a couple of nights. Lu'au was fun but at the same time was so stressful! We never actually got our costumes and we are still waiting for our refunds. We did work out replacement costumes though. We borrowed some from living legends and some from the Polynesian teacher at BYU. I absolutely loved the costume I ended up in. For Lu'au I did the Samoan section and was lucky enough to perform in all of the girl dances for the section! :) I loved doing Lu'au and am so excited for next year, hopefully we will actually get our costumes... In the busyness of that week I became a horrible sister and forgot to call my brother on his birthday!!!! But I apologized and we are good :)

My hair and make-up is done... Just hoping for a costume.

Stephanie and I in our Samoan Costumes and Kimber in her Tahitian Costume

Cousins!!

Kimber: I just feel so special you all want pictures with me!
Stephanie: Not you! Your costume! (Snap picture)

The Stage, see all of those seats? they ended up full so...

...Grandpa had to hope for some tickets (Always purchase tickets in advance)
More recently...
I was asked to do an interview about the Lu'au with a reporter from Eagle's Eye magazine, for multicultural services, and felt like such a dork doing it! I'm sure I was just babbling the whole time... I tend to do that a lot. The funny thing is someone recommended the interviewer talk to me and that's why he asked me. I really want to know who went and did that!? ;)

Conference was amazing and I actually got to attend a session with Stephanie, Lisa, and Dan! We went to the Saturday afternoon session and it was so much fun! I don't remember ever going before and just have to say that I thought it was so cute at the end of conference, while the apostles were walking out, each apostles would wait by the stairs for his wife and then they would walk out together... So cute!!!

I think that's all the interesting aspects of my life for now... Oh wait only five more actual days of school left!!!! I have a concert coming up, ask me about it, and I register for Fall tonight... Ok that's really everything!

So ummm...

I think I might explode, or maybe have a nervous breakdown (at least something like that) Why you may ask? Because next week is going to be horrendous!!!! I think that my teachers are conspiring against me! I have 4 tests, 2 papers, Lu'au practices and performances, (You should come!) Meetings, a cousins wedding, and all of my regular activities (i.e. School, food, and sleep!)I think this will be crazier than finals week! hopefully I survive ;)

Today was Cambria's Wedding Shower so I took the bus to Clearfield yesterday and went to stay with Mindy and her family. The shower was so much fun! I just love to see all of my family (or whoever is there at the moment)

I just love this!!!

You know those days that remind you of great times or that just make some of those great times for you to remember!? Well today was totally one of those days... It started out with school. Nothing special really but then I had to leave class and walk to the Marriott Center to get ready to sing at the devotional and once I got there it was a complete mess! No one knew what was going on (I have had these moments before) So we sang for the devotional and then I met with Karmila to do some scheming (Did I mention this was outside!? It is so pretty outside) Well after that I went to class and then home. When I got home I studied for my test and wished for a reason to be outside. After studying for a while I went to take my test and I passed!!!! (A 70, but for American Heritage that is Amazing!!!) After taking that test I got a text from Amy asking if I wanted to go outside and play!? Ummm DUH the answer is YES! So we found other people and ended up playing soccer on the WyView field. Although I love soccer I am such a bad soccer player and I just felt bad for everyone on my team (Yes that bad) While playing I lost track of time and ended up missing the bus back to campus... While walking to campus I decided to stop at dairy queen and get some ice cream. I got a medium twist dipped in cherry and it was so good but way to big for me (I should have gotten the small) When I got to school Bri and I went swing dancing and there were a couple of guys there who were so awkward! (One of them asked Bri "do you want to dance?" she said yes and the next words out of his mouth were "so do you want to go on a date?" Ummm yeah awkward) Then We took the bus home... But today was just so amazing! I love this weather that is sunny and cool at the same time! :)Oh and I also love having stuff to do! While we were playing soccer I was thinking how amazing it was that you can walk around and find enough people to start a game of soccer. I know this never happened when I was in Vegas! Ohhh I just love college!!!!

So we had a ward party at classic skating over the weekend 80's themed this way my best attempt

Ummm yeah this is us and we are awesome!

And this is Scott ooooookay...

I promise we did do some actual skating! Oh how I love skating (my legs are so sore)

And yes we made a train because we are that awesome!

College

So I love college! There is so much to do... But today I don't know how I feel about it. I went in and got a graduation plan for the Elementary Education major. It is so weird! I loke organization but having something planned out for me (exactly how I am supposed to do it?) kinda freaks me out! I like the fact that I know when I will be ready to graduate but there isn't any room for extra activities like choir, dance, or anything else I might be interested in!!!! I guess it's ok I just feel really weird knowing that the next few years of my (school) life are planned out for me!

I wish...

I wish I could just make everything better. It is so hard knowing I cannot do anything to help but seeing everyone go through the pain. There are so many types of pain and this weekend I have been exposed (for lack of a better word) to a few different types. I just wish I could make it all better like a fairytale with a happy ending (there doesn't have to be a prince). I just wonder WHY? If people could just get over their differences and try to understand one another, without having too high of expectations for each other, wouldn't the world be so much better? Why must we focus so hard on ourselves and what we want? Why do we have to do these things that hurt other people? Haven't we seen others go through this? I'm no better, It's much easier to see a situation and know how it should be handled than to be in a situation and know how to handle it. How come people are so hypocritical and why don't things ever just work? Why does everything bad happen in a domino effect? Why is it easier to focus on the bad? Shouldn't it be the other way around? I doubt this makes much sense because my brain is going crazy right now but I just had to say something.

I Love it when...

1) A totally amazing day happens after a horrible one!
2) Class is over after only 15 minutes!
3) People find out I am Samoan (it is by far the funniest thing in the world to watch their faces as they try to figure out how it is even possibe)
4) Fridays= No school for the next two days
5) It rains, or snows, or even when the weather is perfect like today
6) When I get to go see family for the weekend (My mom is in Utah)
7) I do something right and get acknowledged for it
8) I pass tests or annoying (even on the best day) American Heritage quizzes
9) I have time to sit and think
10) I listen to my music on full blast
11) Something is accomplished
12) My room is clean (sorry Bri)
13) That despite the fact he went without me my dad is home from Samoa! (and brought me some really cool things)
... Oh there are just too many things to love! I thought I should post something happy after yesterdays depressing (I'll admit it) post. By the way if you don't believe me here is a picture of my grandpa (NOT some totally random guy)

So this sucks...

I found out today that I wasn't going to be accepted to the music major because my vocal audition score was just below the score I needed to be considered. How lame is that!? The people that told me this depressing news told me that if I took vocal lessons I would no doubt make the cut. (If only I had been able to take voice lessons ever)SO now I have no idea what I want to do. I can work on everything and reaudition or I can start working towards a El Ed major with a minor in music... So lame! The interviewer even told me that if I took vocal lessons I would be a "hard contender" for a music ed major, whatever that means. It was a good experience and if I decide to audition again the feedback I received would be helpful. Hmmmm...
Well not that I really feel this way but I do love these demotivational posters:

And just for fun...

So the funniest thing I have heard all week happened in clogging. My teacher likes to start class by asking if anyone has an inspirational thought to share with the class. On Monday one girl shared a thought about happiness and after that the teacher asked the class "so what is an example of instant gratification in terms of happiness" a girl in the class obviously answers "chocolate" while a boy in the class says, rather loudly, "oatmeal!" The whole class looked at the boy and the teacher said "Oatmeal?" the boy then replies "yeah you know like instant oatmeal instead of the kind you have to cook. You are never really full when you eat that stuff" Hilarious right!?
